Office for the German Company Dr. Oetker in Mumbai (May 2007)
The German company located in Turner Road, Bandra (W), Mumbai rented a fully open space of ca.880 sqft. All partitions had to be designed to meet the demand of working places and according to Feng Shui. The company wanted to implement Feng Shui for their success in business, but it “should not be seen”. There are certain ways to fulfil those wishes by using colours, material, decorations and set-up the different areas for different purposes (CEO, sales manager, executives, receptionist) to include Feng Shui into the environment, which are not obviously been noticed as such. Following the principles of Feng Shui mostly rounded or curved walls were used and harmful sharp edges (the only straight galss-brick wall in the CEO office) were disarmed by plants or other remedies.

Reception Area: according to Feng Shui sharp corner should be avoided. The round shapes add to the unusual design of that office space. In order to distribute the light equally in the whole office glass brick-partitions instead of solid walls were build.
The receptionist’s place is moulded between a wall and a column just opposite the main door.

The CEO’s office is an individual room divided only by a glass-brick wall and a glass-door, so the safe atmosphere for confidential talks is given and the concept of the open and light space continues even within this cabin.

The Conference Room, also lockable for confidential discussions, follows as well the principle of the rounded design and is build in a quater circle.

The sales manager’s seat is separated from the direct views of the incoming customers by a light but protective glass brick wall. The curved shape parts and utilizes the given space economically.
The area for the Workstation is separated by only a man-heights glass-brick wall, which adds to the impression of a much lager space as it actually is.

The gallery need nearly no additional light; it profits from the glass-brick walls in the whole office, the up lighter and the floor to ceiling mirror are installed for Feng Shui reasons.
