The definitely last Practical Feng Shui Workshop in Pune was a great Success!

I'm fully in my element, when I'm teaching and sharing my knowledge

Many participants took advantage of the last physical Feng Shui Workshop in Pune, so the course was fully booked.

Once more I go the confirmation that doing what I love – teaching and sharing my knowledge and then directly applying the principles of good Feng Shui onto the house plan – is bringing fulfillment and success!

I am on the right track with my teachings as one of them reported me that she was clearing and moving things and furniture around in her office until the early morning hours; she got that much inspired by the workshop. Feng Shui opens so many possibilities for all who are willing to follow the principles of this ancient art and science, which didn’t lost any of its value or validity even in modern days.

I promise to my participants that after this workshop they will be able to confidently “move their furniture around” (it isn’t always necessary to move the furniture, mostly a change in the accessories or colours i.e. of the cushion cover can do the trick) in order to set up their homes for a harmonious and supportive energy (flow) throughout their homes by my easy to follow step by step lessons.

The Three Kinds of Luck and my personal experience with them

Our life is influenced by three kinds of luck: Heaven Luck, Earth Luck and Mankind Luck. A modern way of saying this is that our path of life is described by three elements: Time, Space, and Action.

The Three Kind of Luck: Heaven, Earth and Mankind Luck

The first luck is the Heaven Luck, also referred to the Time element. It is the luck in terms of time with the birth moment as initial condition. That means in what kind of family we are born or under which physical conditions we grow up. Many times this is called “Karma”, fate or destiny. We hardly have direct influence on it.

The second luck is the Earth Luck or the Space element. This is the place of birth and the place where we are currently living; this can be influenced by Feng Shui. If it is practiced in a correct way we can take advantage of many of the benefits this type of luck has to offer. Good Feng Shui creates a harmonious environment and therefore builds the base for the personal development – again my business slogan: “Transforming your Home – Transforming your Life” reads true.

The third luck is the Mankind Luck or the element of Action, means what we are doing, how we live our life, our spiritual practice, our self-development. If we do the right thing at the right time and right place, we will be fortunate. Otherwise, we will encounter hardship. And as the Mankind Luck is the luck we create for ourselves it is important what we are doing for our own enhancement and self-development. We can use the tools of meditation, visualization or control our breath – the powerful internal chi – or the form of guided meditation, inspirational talks or other energy healing methods. The ultimate aim is to expand our own consciousness to attract and being open for good fortune and happiness in our lives.

At this point I’ll become little more personal and share some of my own experiences with these Three Kinds of Luck:

My Heaven Luck (destiny) brought me “back to my roots”, which are definitely in India, where I started my spiritual journey into myself 23 years before.

As a Feng Shui Master Consultant I created my own Earth Luck and I set up my own surroundings in ways that support me to tap into all the opportunities, I want to encounter in my life.

And I influenced my Mankind Luck by my spiritual practice, the so called Inner Feng Shui; I learned to trust that I can attract the right kind of people into my life, that I’ll find the right inspiration just when needed it or that get the best support and guidance for my forthcoming.

One of the biggest support to change my Mankind Luck I received from an amazing woman: Amy Flynn, whom I consider my “spiritual coach”. Through her and The Collective’s guidance I leaned to leap into the energy of love and abundance. The guided meditations of The Collective and especially the Money Reiki Healing let me finally tap into my own prosperity (which is more than only money related). This enhanced my whole energy and deepened my spiritual connection.

How to determine your Auspicious Areas in your Home or your Office

This is my professional compass, the so called Lo Pan, signed and blessed by my teacher Feng Shui Grand Master Lillian Too

In Feng Shui every person has 4 auspicious directions, called Success-, Health-, Romance- and Personal Development Direction. There are also 4 directions that are inauspicious and should be avoided. To find out about the areas and directions in the home or office that provides the best support, the so called KUA number has to be calculated which is based on the date of birth. According to this personal KUA number, the personal 4 positive and 4 negative directions can be determined.

The KUA number is an important factor in the Feng Shui calculations. To know about the personal KUA number and the favourable directions is essential, because sleeping, sitting or working in any of these specific locations will generally bring luck and protect from misfortune.

The Chinese lunar calendar differs from the Gregorian calender and starts with the Chinese New Year, which falls every year on a different date between 21st of Jan and the 20th of Feb. If the particular birth year lies before the Chinese New Year the KUA number has to be calculated from the year before. Refer to the Chinese Lunar Calendar at the end of the article to make ensure the correct Chinese year of birth for the calculation.

If the birthday lies after the 20th of February, then use the calculation described below.

With this easy to follow step-by-step guide any KUA number can be calculated:

For Women:

- Determine the correct Chinese year of birth

- Add the last two digits of your year of birth to reduce to one digit

- Add 5 to that number – for birthdays from 2000 onwards, add 6 to the single digit!!!

- This outcome is the personal KUA Number

- 1931 => 3 + 1 = 4 ; 4 + 5 = 9 A woman born in 1931 has KUA Number 9

- 2005 => 0 + 5 = 5: 5 + 6 = 11 = 2 A girl born in 2005 has KUA number 2

For Men:

- Determine the correct Chinese year of birth

- Add the last two digits of the year of birth to reduce to one digit

- Deduct from 10 – for birthdays from 2000 onwards, deduct the single digit from 9!!!

- This result is the personal KUA Number

- 1974 => 7 + 4 = 11 ; 1+1 = 2 ; 10 – 2 = 8 A man born in 1974 has KUA Number 8

- 2005 => 0 + 5 = 5; 9 – 5 = 4 A boy born in 2005 has KUA Number 4

According to the KUA number the Auspicious Directions can be read as followed:

Note: number 5 is divided in m = male and f = female

Try as far as it is possible to sit facing the most Auspicious Direction: sit on the writing table facing the Success direction. Or sleep with the head towards that particular direction: sleeping towards the Health direction will support and maintain good health or sleeping towards the Romance direction is beneficial while looking for a partner or to maintain a good marriage.

In case this is not possible to tap into the best direction for you goal, utilize one of your other three good directions, but avoid facing or sleeping into the Inauspicious Directions!

Note: number 5 is divided in m = male and f = female

The names of the Inauspicious Direction sound a bit unusual; these are the literally translations of the Chinese names. What is important to remember is that they increase in their wickedness from Mild Unluck to Total Loss.

The Sunshine Bungalow – The Livingroom

A small Bungalow, called the “Sunshine Bungalow”, in Pune before and after the renovation – some comparative picture before and after.

The owner didn’t want to change the yellow wall-colours, because even if the sun doesn’t shine outside, the whole house always appears like being bathed in sunlight! Therefore it is called “The Sunshine Bungalow”

The Livingroom

The livingroom was formally used as a tailoring-studio, but now it regained its origin possession as the drawing-room. The largest room of the bungalow with the most windows deserves to be the middle-point as it also gives the access to the roof terrace, which provides additional “open air” dining hall and a recreation center (See Portfolio: Roof Terrace in the style of “1001 Nights”) . The area of the most activity accommodates also a small home-office as it is better to work it in the hall than in the bedroom, which should be reserved for resting rather than working.

Before: The tailoring-studio was designed in a simple and practical way, but the energy entering the room shot immediately out of the window without nourishing the rest of the room.

The Sunshine Bungalow in Pune – The Kitchen

A small Bungalow, called the “Sunshine Bungalow”, in Pune before and after the renovation – some comparative picture before and after.

The Kitchen

Before: The dining table was placed under a beam - not a good place to sit and the table was divided into two parts energetically.

After: The kitchen was quite spacy, but a lot of space was unused; therefore we build a partition to create an extra (bed)room and still give the kitchen enough space for cooking comfortably and dining with up to 5 people. Now all seats are out of the suppressed energy zone under the beam.

Before: The Kitchen appears quite cluttered as you can see all what was places under the platform. The black colour of the platform gave too much contrast to the yellow walls.

After: All storage is hidden behind curtains. Instead of shutters we used curtains here in order to create softer waves in contrast to the otherwise straight lines of the kitchen.

Before: Although the crockery is placed neatly, the whole shelf-area appears untidy and unorganized

After: Tailor-made shelves in the niches spread much more unity and harmony, although the crockery is still openly exposed

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Mirrors in Feng Shui

Mirrors are an often employed in Feng Shui as a remedy i.e. to cover architectural challenges like poles or odd angles or as an enhancement for positive features like a striking view. They can activate, expand and help to circulate the positive energy, called Chi.

Mirrors can be installed to enlarge a room – an excellent measure for narrow spaces – or to give a visual impression of a missing area i.e. in L-shaped houses, to activate a room or to double a beautiful view or to double virtually the food being served in your dining-room. They keep the Chi lively in the living room, family room, dining room, in the kitchen, bathroom as well as in the office.

But mirrors are not meant for rooms dedicated to sleep or relaxation. In case of a mirror in the bedroom – the worst situation is when it is posted directly opposite of the bed – Feng Shui advises to remove it or shift it to where the bed is not reflected. In case the mirror cannot be moved another possibility is to cover it overnight with a nice cloth or as large mirrors can be treated like windows they can be hidden behind beautiful curtains, open it during the day and closed by night.

Mirrors should always show the whole clear image; therefore mirrors should be clear and big enough not to cut the image. Make sure, that the mirror is hung high enough; it should show every adult’s entire head with at least 2” spare above. Avoid mirrors, which cut the image into pieces like mirror tiles, mosaics or mirrors made from pieces, broken or mottled ones. Keep your mirrors always crystal clean. Clear mirrors reflect clear and bright Chi, but cut or distorted ones break up the Chi.

Let a mirror only reflect beautiful sights, if it exhibits an eyesore, better change the position or beautify the reflection. Mirrors should be placed carefully: i.e. don’t hang a mirror directly opposite the main door as it will reflect all the positive energy that wants to enter the home right back out again or don’t place mirrors directly opposite of each other, as the reflect the images until infinity, distorting and disorientating people and the Chi.

Mirrors are necessary to reflect, what is happening in the back; if the writing table is positioned that the back shows towards the door, place a mirror on the desk (or something reflecting like a picture-frame or a shiny paperweight) to give an overview, what is happening behind. Same applies to situations when the cook/homemaker has to work with the back towards the door: place the mirror to observe the area behind, but avoid reflecting the flames of the stove, as this symbolizes too much fire in the kitchen. The right Position of your Office-Table supports your Success

No matter if you are the CEO of the company, a manager or a secretary, it is important where you sit and what you see from your place. As you spend quite a time in the office the atmosphere and your place have a great influence on how you feel during the day.

If you sit right opposite the door and everybody seems to come towards you or has to pass by your desk, it will be difficult to concentrate on your work. Try to move your writing table out of this area or if this isn’t possible place some potted plants between the door and your desk in order to stop the energy shooting straight towards you. A windchime or a rainbow-crystal hung from the ceiling in that line of fire will disperses the energy and therefore also will help to protect you.

It is beneficial to have a solid wall behind your chair that gives a back support. A picture of a mountain on that wall will provide you additional support; an image of a golden mountain is very conducive, especially in businesses.

In many offices or workstations you cannot avoid having a window right behind you, in this case place some plants on the window sill to give a little backing.

If it happens that you have a sharp edge of a column right in front or behind you, this is considered as a “Poison Arrow” shooting its negative energy towards you. If possible move out of that direct line or camouflage the corner with a plant covering the sharp edge, either a hanging plant or a potted one, at least 3-4 feet high or hanging down (it is not necessary to cover the whole edge from bottom to top, just the area that effects you).

If you sit with your back towards the door and you cannot see who enters the room, it gives you a much uncomfortable and unsecured feeling. According to Feng Shui this is the worst position as it means that someone can stab you in the back. If you cannot move out of this position, then place a small mirror or something shining/reflecting on your desk. It can be the reflecting screen of your computer, a picture frame or a shining paper weight. Use something which reflects the scene behind you, so you always can monitor, what is going on behind your back.

One of the best positions is diagonally opposite the door, as you always can see who enters and have the best survey over the whole room. This is called the command position, which is the best position for the CEO.

If you have a flexible setup in your office or you plan to renovate, then calculate the best position for you by your Date Of Birth. You will receive the best support by facing your personal Success-Direction at your working place. All points mentioned above apply to a homes-office as well, there you are even more flexible to choose the most supportive direction for yourself.

What is “Space Clearing”?

Is it esoteric Hocus-Pocus or can it really improve my current situation?

Have you ever noticed when you cross the threshold of an old house you somehow feel uncomfortable and don’t know why? Or you enter a room, where an argument just happened; you literally can feel “the air is so thick that you can cut it with a knife”? These are the energies still stuck in the atmosphere or the impacts of all the previous occupants imprinted in the walls, ceilings, floors or furniture, which are accumulating especially in the corners and nooks.
Every house or flat has its own history (family tragedies, death, fights, divorces) which is captured “in the memory” of the walls and still residing there as “stucked energies”. But also in some new houses the inhabitants still don’t feel comfortable and secure to live in there.

This can be due to the negative vibrations under which circumstances the site was build: the workers are treated badly and without any respect and they leave all their frustrations and “revenge” in the construction (spitting or urinating in the corners of any room), because they have to build the apartments for the “rich ones” for a quite low salary.
